Why track medication tracker in ClinicalTools

Popular medication apps charge $40–$60 a year for reminders. ClinicalTools includes a full medication tracker in its one-time Pro upgrade — pay once, and it works for as long as you own the app.

Each entry can be a pill or tablet, an injection, a vitamin, a supplement, a scheduled blood draw or anything else, with its dosage, a colour for quick recognition, the reason you take it and who prescribed it. Schedules are flexible: choose how many times a day, set the exact times, and pick the days of the week, with an optional start and end date for courses like antibiotics.

Meal timing — with food, without food, or doesn't matter — appears on the reminder so you don't have to remember. Enter your current supply and the app counts down with every dose you mark taken, sending a refill reminder a set number of days before you run out.

Three steps, every time.

1

Add the medication

Name, dose, type, colour, meal timing, times per day and days of the week. Add supply count and refill lead time if you like.

2

Respond from the lock screen

At each scheduled time a notification arrives. Tap Taken or Skip right on the notification, without unlocking your phone.

3

Check adherence

The daily checklist shows Due, Done, Missed and Skipped, and the history screen shows your overall adherence percentage.

What the Medication Tracker tool does

🔔

Lock-screen reminders with actions

Notifications include ✓ Taken and Skip buttons, so a dose can be logged in one tap from the lock screen or a notification banner.

🗓️

Flexible schedules

One to several times a day at exact times, any combination of weekdays, and optional start and end dates for short courses.

🍽️

Food instructions

Mark a medication as with food, without food or no restriction; the instruction shows on every reminder.

📦

Supply and refill alerts

Track how many doses you have left. A refill notification fires a chosen number of days (default 7) before you run out.

💉

More than pills

Injections, vitamins, supplements, scheduled blood draws and other recurring health tasks all fit the same reminder system.

📊

Adherence history

See every dose as Done, Missed or Skipped, and an overall adherence percentage colour-coded green above 80 %.

For anyone on more than one prescription

Managing five medications with different timings and food rules is genuinely hard, and a missed dose can undo weeks of progress on blood pressure or glucose. The tracker is equally useful for a weekly injection, a daily vitamin, or a caregiver keeping a parent's schedule straight. Because reminders are local notifications, they work with no internet connection and no account.

Your medication tracker data stays yours.

No account, no login, no server run by us. Data lives on your iPhone or iPad and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own end-to-end-encrypted iCloud account. Every export and share is something you start.

Medication Tracker — common questions

Is the medication tracker free?

Medication Tracker is part of ClinicalTools Pro, a one-time $9.99 in-app purchase that also unlocks Appointments, Medical Contacts, Training Tracker and Health Diary. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

Do reminders work if I don't open the app?

Yes. Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your iPhone, so they arrive on time whether or not the app is running, and the Taken and Skip actions work directly from the notification.

Can I set different times on different days?

You choose the times per day and the days of the week for each medication. A medication taken Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or only at bedtime, is easy to set up.

Does it track how many pills I have left?

Yes. Enter your supply and each dose marked Taken reduces the count. A refill reminder is sent a set number of days before you run out.

Can I log injections or supplements?

Yes. Each entry has a type — pill, injection, vitamin, supplement, blood draw or other — with its own icon and colour.
