Hydration tracking in one tap

Tap a glass, a cup, a bottle. ClinicalTools adds it to today's total, fills the ring toward your goal, writes it to Apple Health and — if you want — reminds you to drink at regular intervals through the day.

Free forever. No subscription, no account, no ads. Requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone or iPad.

Why track water intake in ClinicalTools

Most people under-drink, and most people who try to fix it give up because logging is tedious. ClinicalTools makes it a single tap: four quick-add buttons sized for a small glass, a cup, a bottle and a large bottle — 4, 8, 16 and 24 oz, or 150, 240, 500 and 750 ml.

Set a daily goal anywhere from 500 to 4000 ml (your doctor may suggest more or less depending on medications, kidney function or heat), and the ring on the Today tab shows how far along you are. Hitting the goal on consecutive days builds a streak, and the history tab charts each day against the goal line.

Optional reminders nudge you at a chosen interval — every two hours, say — between a start and end hour, so you are not pinged at midnight. Every entry is written to Apple Health as dietary water, and the log exports to PDF.

Three steps, every time.

Apple Health

Each entry is written to Apple Health as dietary water, so the Health app and other apps stay in sync.

📈

History and PDF

A daily bar chart with the goal line, and a PDF export of your intake history.

For kidney stones, medications, heat and habit-building

Doctors prescribe fluid targets for kidney-stone prevention, certain medications, urinary infections and pregnancy, and it is easier to hit a target you can see. Older adults, who feel thirst less, and anyone working in heat benefit from the reminders. The streak turns a chore into a habit.

Water Intake — common questions

Is the water tracker free?

Yes. Water Intake, reminders, streaks, Apple Health sync and PDF export are all free.

Can I use ounces instead of millilitres?

Yes. Choose oz or ml; the quick-add buttons and goal are shown in your unit.

Can I set my own goal?

Yes. The goal slider runs from 500 to 4000 ml in 100 ml steps. The default is 2000 ml.

How do the reminders work?

Choose an interval in hours and a start and end hour; the app schedules local notifications at those times. They work without internet and can be turned off any time.

Does it sync with Apple Health?

Yes. Each amount you add is written to Apple Health as dietary water.
